Job Description
Title: Payroll Analyst (Global / Oil & Gas) Location: Houston, Texas Type: Contract Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $40.00 / Per Hour Summary The Payroll Analyst will support global payroll in a complex, enterprise-level environment. This role will support payroll operations for a large, multi-state and international workforce (3,000+ employees), with oil and gas industry experience. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in multi-jurisdictional payroll tax compliance, global payroll processes, and hands-on experience with ADP systems. This role requires the ability to navigate complex payroll structures, ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations, and support continuous process improvements. Duties Process and audit bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll for a workforce of 3,000+ employees across multiple regions Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions in compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll laws Manage multi-state and international payroll tax compliance, including filings, reconciliations, and year-end activities (W-2s, 1099s, and global equivalents) Analyze and interpret payroll tax implications, including expatriate, cross-border, and global mobility scenarios Maintain and troubleshoot payroll data within ADP (Workforce Now, Vantage, or GlobalView preferred) Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing Conduct payroll reconciliations, variance analyses, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance Monitor and implement regulatory updates impacting payroll, particularly in the oil and gas sector and global jurisdictions Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and controls Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency in payroll operations Assist with system upgrades, implementations, and integration efforts within enterprise environments Requirements 5+ years of payroll experience in a large, complex organization (3,000+ employees) Experience working in an enterprise-level company environment Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and compliance requirements Demonstrated experience supporting international/global payroll operations Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now, Vantage, GlobalView, or similar) Solid understanding of payroll tax implications, including cross-border and expatriate considerations Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information Excellent organizational and time management skills Effective communication skills across multiple levels of the organization Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
