Payroll Clerk with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll setup, preparation, and reporting for clients of a CPA firm that entails multiple businesses, sole proprietors, and household employees. About our firm We are a family-oriented firm offering a pleasant work environment, and half-day Fridays most weeks after April 15 Competitive benefits (retirement, life insurance, paid time off, QSEHRA health reimbursement) Requirements 5 years of multi-company payroll preparation experience Experience in employment tax account applications required by various tax authorities, knowledge of employer and employee documents needed to setup a client in payroll software, implement/process direct deposit, familiarity with Wage and Hour laws, maintain current wage rates, pre/post tax deductions and understand taxation implications of varying pre-tax deductions for benefits and retirement, enter hours, process payroll and calculate/schedule payments for employment tax liabilities for varying payroll tax deposit schedules Ability to manage multiple engagements in a challenging environment, adhering to payroll schedules, employment tax deposit due dates and payroll return reporting deadlines Process weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual payroll returns, Forms W-2, 1099s Research and respond to tax authority notices and worker’s compensation reporting Proficient in computerized payroll software applications such as Accounting CS, QuickBooks as well as MS Excel and ability to adapt quickly to new processes and software Must possess excellent organizational and client-oriented communication skills Pay: $23.49 - $26.79 per hour Benefits Paid time off Retirement plan Experience Payroll: 5 years (Preferred) Tax accounting application: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
