Job Description
Compensation $130,000 to $140,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to lead and evolve payroll operations within a complex, multi-state, and project-driven organization. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant payroll execution while driving continuous process improvement and system scalability. The Senior Payroll Manager will oversee end-to-end payroll administration, manage and develop a payroll team, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on payroll compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices—particularly within union and prevailing wage environments. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with demonstrated expertise in end-to-end payroll administration 3+ years of leadership experience managing payroll professionals or teams Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Extensive experience supporting multi-state payroll operations Proven experience administering union payroll, including interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) Strong working knowledge of prevailing wage laws and Certified Payroll requirements, including Davis-Bacon compliance In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, filings, reconciliations, and year-end processing (W-2s) Experience partnering with Finance on job costing, labor burden, and general ledger alignment Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and data integrity Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and evolving environment NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Experience selecting, implementing, or optimizing payroll systems and/or payroll modules within ERP platforms Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based environments Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification Experience leading payroll system enhancements, integrations, or process automation initiatives Proven track record of building, coaching, and developing high-performing payroll teams Experience strengthening internal controls and driving continuous improvement initiatives
