Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: The Payroll Manager is a self-directed, self-sufficient and collaborative individual. He/She administers and manages payroll ensuring that federal, state and local laws are complied with and ensures all associates are paid correctly and in a timely manner. He/She is responsible for ensuring all gratuities/tips/service charges are reconciled and paid. Processes payroll bi-weekly, distributes wage reports, maintains vacation accruals, payroll deductions and federal/state reporting. The Payroll Manager engages with line level associates and managers alike as a result, demonstrating empathy and providing positive and proactive solutions is of utmost importance. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the Payroll Manager may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort. This position collaborates with HR and the Operations team. Reports to the Assistant Director of Finance with a dotted line to the Director of Finance. DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: At least two years’ experience managing a payroll function of a similarly sized organization or unit. Some hospitality experience preferred. Understanding of payroll related laws & government requirements. Experience in the Las Vegas Market is helpful. Strong financial analysis skills, math/numerical acumen. Exceptional verbal and written communication. Bilingual is a plus. Oversee and administer payroll deductions for group insurance, 401k, tax deposits, associate garnishments. Experience with payroll system and labor management system strongly required. Previous experience with ADP, 401K admin, Labor Management systems a plus. Ability to work independently and also with other members of the Finance, HR and Operations teams. Ability to troubleshoot and think proactively. Ability to effectively deal with Associate concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy and providing positive and proactive solutions. Ability to reconcile accounts. Ability to work weekends and holidays may be required. A professional and polished demeanor consistent with our brand. Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with managers and staff as is necessary. Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete necessary reports and understand instructions/information. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Has mathematical/numerical acumen. OTHER DUTIES: Assimilate into Trump Las Vegas Cultural Foundation through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION At least 2-year college (associate) degree preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years’ management experience in Hotel industry preferred. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES None GROOMING/UNIFORMS All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
