Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated PE/Movement Teacher to inspire students through engaging physical education and movement activities. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to foster a lifelong love of physical activity, promote healthy habits, and support overall childhood development. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong understanding of child-centered movement education to create a vibrant learning environment. Paid positions are available, including internships, with a focus on nurturing students’ physical, social, and emotional growth through dynamic instruction. Duties Design and implement comprehensive movement and physical education curricula tailored to diverse student needs, including early childhood and special education populations. Develop creative lesson plans that incorporate innovative learning technology and align with educational standards such as literacy, math, and overall childhood development. Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive behavior management during all activities. Incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching approaches to enhance motor skills, coordination, and social interaction among students. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and therapists to adapt activities for students with autism or other learning differences. Utilize LMS (Learning Management Systems) for tracking student progress, documenting assessments, and communicating with parents or guardians about developmental milestones. Proofread instructional materials and activity guides to ensure clarity, accuracy, and appropriateness for young learners. Support children’s emotional well-being through nurturing interactions while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship during movement activities. Experience Prior classroom experience in physical education or movement instruction within preschool or early childhood settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development for childhood physical education that integrates literacy education, math concepts, and health awareness. Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is advantageous. Strong communication skills necessary for engaging students effectively and collaborating with colleagues and families. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to physical development assessments is a plus. Background in working with individuals with autism or in special education environments enhances your fit for this role. Familiarity with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and active participation across diverse age groups.
