Peer Counselor

Job Description Helps to Provide resources and Referrals for Supportive services to clients referred by the Police Department. Qualifications: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or able to obtain in the first 6 months of working. Past or present consumer of mental health or substance abuse services with a history of managing one’s own illness and experience working with people in the community. A sound understanding of mental health and/or substance abuse problems and treatments. Valid Driver's license and ability to maintain fleet service driving privilege. Ability to use good judgement, work well with others and maintain confidentiality. Familiarity with the community, able to use good judgment, and build good rapport with clients and community partners.
