Perennial Nursery Worker

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking worker to join our team.This role involves working both indoors in greenhouses and outdoors in various weather conditions.The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening, with the ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and using hand tools.This position is essential for maintaining the health and growth of our plants, ensuring a thriving nursery environment. Responsibilities Assist in the planting, watering, and care of various plants and flowers. Operate irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of nursery stock. Perform heavy lifting tasks related to moving plants, soil, and equipment. Utilize hand tools for planting, pruning, and maintaining plant health. Identify different plant species and monitor their growth conditions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery area, including greenhouses. Participate in lawn care activities as needed to support overall nursery operations. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily goals and maintain high standards of plant care. Skills Basic math skills for measuring soil, water, and fertilizer quantities. Experience with irrigation systems and techniques for effective watering. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently. Familiarity with greenhouse operations and outdoor gardening practices. Proficient use of hand tools for gardening and maintenance tasks. Mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs on equipment used in the nursery. Strong plant identification skills to recognize healthy plants versus those needing attention.
