The PHSU School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Periodontics . We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative clinician-educator committed to excellence in patient care, education, and service within an academic environment. Position Title: Periodontist (Faculty Rank commensurate with experience) Primary Responsibilities: FACULTY PRACTICE: Provide comprehensive periodontal care, including diagnosis and management of periodontal diseases, non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapy, soft and hard tissue grafting, and implant placement and maintenance Diagnose and treatment plan complex cases, including interdisciplinary care involving restorative, prosthodontic, and surgical disciplines Supervise and mentor predoctoral students and/or residents in clinical periodontics Participate in preclinical and didactic teaching, including simulation and case-based instruction Contribute to curriculum development, student assessment, and continuous quality improvement Ensure adherence to clinical standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols Support integration of advanced technologies (e.g., digital imaging, implant planning software, regenerative techniques) Engage in scholarly activity and institutional service Minimum Qualifications: DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution Certificate of completion from an accredited Periodontics residency program Eligibility for licensure in Puerto Rico Strong commitment to teaching and patient-centered care Preferred Qualifications: Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Periodontology Experience with implant dentistry and regenerative periodontal procedures Clinical/Academic Environment: The selected candidate will join a dynamic academic team in a modern clinical facility equipped with advanced periodontal and implant technologies.
