Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our trial lawyers in preparing personal injury cases for trial. This role is vital in assisting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from drafting and filing lawsuits to trial preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work under minimal supervision, and a comprehensive understanding of personal injury law. Primary Responsibilities: Manage the discovery process, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, organizing and reviewing discovery documents, and coordinating and reviewing responses with clients. Prepare interrogatories, requests for admissions (RFA), and requests for production (RFP). Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including drafting and filing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards and deadlines. Organize and maintain case files using a document management system, ensuring that all materials are easily accessible and up to date. Manage the litigation calendar and track all required deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Maintain professional relationships and facilitate the flow of information throughout the case. Perform essential administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings for attorneys. Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies, including researching statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to personal injury litigation. Required Experience and Skills: A minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury litigation, with a strong background in civil litigation, insurance defense, or similar areas. Familiarity with the Code of Civil Procedure and working knowledge of California Civil Rules of Procedure and Local Rules. Experience in preparing and requesting discovery and collecting medical records is essential. Proficient in G-Suite, MS Office, and Adobe, with strong computer skills and experience working in an electronic/digital environment. Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, meeting deadlines under time constraints. Compensation: Compensation for this role is between $40.00 and $45.00 / hour. Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
