An established new pharmacy in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to lead their operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. This direct hire opportunity offers a chance to spearhead the launch and growth of a brand-new site serving long-term care (LTC) facilities. This role requires a pharmacist with a minimum of 5 years of LTC experience, preferably with leadership exposure, ready to take on increased responsibilities in a start-up environment. Candidates must hold an active Virginia pharmacist license as this position is critical to the pharmacy's opening and ongoing success. Key Responsibilities Oversee pharmacy operations ensuring strict adherence to company policies, state, and federal regulations Staff management: provide visibility, motivation, and leadership to pharmacists, technicians, and support staff Implement and maintain quality assurance programs and pharmacy procedures Review prescriptions for appropriateness and legality Manage inventory including stocking, labeling, and monitoring medication quality Lead efforts to meet productivity goals while maintaining a high level of customer service Utilize system tools like Frameworks and DocuTrack efficiently to support operations Desired Qualifications: Active Virginia Pharmacist license required 5+ years of LTC pharmacy experience with a strong operational background Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills with effective communication abilities Proficient knowledge of pharmacy laws, dosage administration, chemical compounds, and medical brands Computer literacy including MS Office and pharmacy management software Commitment to integrity, customer service, and compassion in patient care Location & Schedule: Position based near Salem, VA with the expectation to explore candidates fro
