Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Join a leading healthcare system serving Los Angeles County as a Staff Pharmacist on a long-term contract basis, with the potential for permanent placement within a prestigious hospital network. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists who have completed a PGY1 residency or possess approximately two years of recent inpatient experience. Candidates without a PGY1 residency are also considered if they bring some hospital experience, including internships. Location: Los Angeles, CA (Sylmar area) Job Type: Contract (with potential for permanent hire) Schedule 8-hour shifts Flexibility required to work primarily 1st and 2nd shifts Occasional 3rd shifts may be needed Responsibilities Provide comprehensive pharmacological care within a busy hospital environment Collaborate with healthcare teams in ambulatory care and inpatient settings Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate medication records and prepare reports as needed Participate in competency evaluations and complete mandatory onboarding procedures Desired Qualifications Successful completion of PGY1 residency preferred; open to candidates with hospital experience if PGY1 is not completed Approximately two years of current inpatient pharmacy experience highly favored Ability to pass a one-time competency exam as part of the hiring process Flexibility to work variable shifts Strong communication and teamwork skills Benefits And Perks Long-term contract with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System Competitive compensation Access to a pension plan and union benefits upon permanent placement Opportunities for career advancement and lateral moves within a vast health system Access to extensive health system resources and professional development Successful candidates will be interviewed onsite and must complete a competency exam and background LiveScan prior to beginning work.
