A prominent pediatric acute care hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking a skilled pharmacist to ensure the safe and effective use of medications for its young patients. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at a leading 336-bed pediatric Level 1 trauma center, renowned for its specialized patient population and strong professional development. Location: North Little Rock, Arkansas Job Type: Direct Hire (Temp or Permanent) Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off rotation Thursday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Schedule flexibility available upon discussion Key Responsibilities: Verify medication appropriateness considering patient diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area. Identify and intervene on drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions. Evaluate drug selection and recommend cost-effective alternatives when possible. Ensure proper medication preparation, labeling, and administration according to the highest quality standards. Serve as a clinical resource in patient care areas, monitoring therapeutic outcomes and collaborating with healthcare teams. Participate in education and training for patients, pharmacy staff, and students. Conduct drug information activities and assist with drug utilization review. Manage medication ordering processes and maintain inventory control. Respond promptly to supply shortages and coordinate substitutions as needed. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Arkansas pharmacist license or willingness to obtain one. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred. Experience in inpatient acute care pharmacy, especially pediatric, is highly valued.
