Job Description
An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available beginning March 23 for a 13-week contract at a medical center in Norfolk, VA. The pharmacist will work overnight shifts, with schedules rotating between 7 nights on and 7 nights off. Shifts run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM and Friday through Sunday from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. Responsibilities: Verify medication orders and enter them accurately Manage IV medications and pain-controlled analgesia Administer antibiotics and monitor drug interactions Preferred experience includes chemotherapy administration, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing Utilize EMR systems for medication documentation, specifically EPIC charting Qualifications: Must have a valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel experience is preferred Proficiency in IV medication management, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interactions is required EPIC EMR experience is mandatory This role provides a unique chance to apply specialized inpatient pharmacy skills in a dynamic hospital setting with consistent overnight shifts on a rotating schedule.
