Job Description
A Pharmacy Technician role is available on a 13-week contract to support ambulatory infusion services. The position involves assisting pharmacists with clinical data collection, problem solving, clinical support, patient interaction, and medication order processing within an infusion-focused environment. This role requires strict supervision by a pharmacist and demands familiarity with pharmacy procedures, particularly IV admixture and sterile techniques, to ensure expert care for patients with cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections, and other conditions. Location: Salem, OR Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, no weekends Start Date: ASAP EMR System: EPIC Responsibilities: Assist pharmacists in gathering and assessing clinical data to support medication therapy Support clinical problem-solving and provide clinical support functions Interact directly with patients regarding their medications and infusion treatments Process medication orders accurately under pharmacist supervision Perform technical pharmacy duties, including IV admixture and sterile technique tasks Utilize EMR (EPIC) for documentation and communication within the care team Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Current, unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License Minimum of 18 months of work experience as a Pharmacy Technician Demonstrated experience with IV admixture and sterile technique is mandatory Proficiency in keyboarding, calculator use, and mathematical calculations Experience or training in assessing clinical data Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen Candidates without prior IV experience will not be considered for this assignment.
