Pharmacy Technician

Project Turnabout has an immediate opening for a Pharmacy Technician at our Granite Falls Campus. JOB STATUS: Full-Time (40 hours/week), 12 Months Per Year START DATE: As Soon As Possible LOCATION: Granite Falls, MN We are seeking responsible individuals with empathy and passion for patients that turn to Project Turnabout for recovery. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Work directly with local pharmacy in ordering patient medications. Assist the pharmacy in completing prior authorizations for patient medications as they arise. Work with clinic provider and nursing staff on all medication related issues concerning patients. Maintain constant contact with clinic assistant for new orders. Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies/items needed to provide appropriate patient care. Prepare and maintain patient’s Medication Administration Record and health records including transcribing medications into the eMar System. Managing referrals for potential Restricted Recipient Program members and complete all data entry for restriction information. This includes reviewing referrals for completeness of information and ensuring Restricted Recipient Program Specialists receive referrals or other information in a timely manner and according to established practices. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years of age Completion of pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience Pass a MN Department of Human Services background study Ability to document 2 years of freedom from chemical/gambling use problems Must be CPR and in outpatient programs, first aid certified Must possess a current TMA - Trained Medication Aide certificate, or willing to obtain EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to translate medication orders and ability to understand common medical abbreviations Have basic knowledge of chemical dependency Possess excellent communication and computer skills Attend all required in-services and training sessions in compliance with State and Federal regulations and organizational requirements.
