Luis Hospital & Medical Center Opening Date: 04/19/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Description DEPARTMENT : Rehabilitation FLSA STATUS: NON- EXEMPT POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief of Physical Therapist SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A CLASSIFIED/UNCLASSIFIED: Classified BARGAINING UNIT : SIU EFFECTIVE DATE: January 2016 REVISION DATE: N/A POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Chief Physical Therapist the staff Physical Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital, joint commission and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. The staff Physical Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Accurately assesses patients' needs. Identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy interventions; provides patient and family teaching. Works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. Performs functions according to hospital policy in accordance with the mission a
