Summary The Hospitalist is responsible for the overnight, inpatient management of hospitalized Veterans at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. The physician provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions, including management of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Major Duties/ Responsibilities: Serving as attending physician for hospitalized patients overnight Performing admissions Managing ICU-level care including ventilator management, non-invasive ventilation and vasoactive medications Responding to all rapid responses and Code Blues Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies Supervising trainees when present Completing timely documentation Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday 7:00pm to 7:00am, and Sunday 7:00pm to 3:00am on alternating weeks.
