We are currently seeking a full-time, Board Eligible/Board Certified Hospitalist Neurosurgeon to join our esteemed Neurosurgery Program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position offers a distinctive 7-on/7-off hospitalist schedule at a Level II Trauma Center, equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, a comprehensive array of brain and spine cases, a robust referral network, and valuable academic opportunities to educate medical students, residents, and fellows, all within a collaborative and mission-driven healthcare environment. Job Description: Opportunity Details: This position represents an outstanding opportunity for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Neurosurgeon to integrate into a high-performing surgical team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role entails a 7-on/7-off hospitalist neurosurgery schedule, providing predictable work hours and an ideal work-life balance. The selected candidate will practice at a Level II Trauma Center featuring modern surgical suites, advanced imaging technologies, and multidisciplinary neuro support. This is a full-time, permanent role encompassing a diverse cranial and spinal case mix alongside a strong referral base. The position permits academic involvement with opportunities to instruct medical students, residents, and fellows, promoting long-term career advancement within a cooperative hospital environment. We welcome applications from new graduates, provided they attain board certification within two years of becoming board eligible. Role Responsibilities: Perform the full range of cranial and spinal neurosurgical procedures. Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical consultations and follow-up care. Interpret advanced imaging studies, including MRI, CT, and angiography. Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurointerventional, trauma teams, and other medical specialties. Participate in trauma and spine call in alignment with the 7-on/7-off schedule. Deliver patient-centered, high-quality, evidence-based surgical care. Shift Description: - The position adheres to a 7-on/7-off hospitalist neurosurgery schedule, encompassing full 7-day shifts. Weekend Requirements: - Weekend coverage is included within the scheduled 7-day work block. On-Call Requirements: - The candidate will participate in a 7-on/7-off hospitalist neurosurgery schedule consisting of full 7-day shifts. Skills: - Proficiency in cranial and spinal neurosurgery. Expertise in trauma neurosurgical management. Competence in interpreting advanced neuroimaging. Strong decision-making capabilities in complex surgical scenarios. Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. Engagement in teaching and academic activities. Skilled in managing high-acuity patient cases. Qualifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery (must achieve Board Certification within two years of becoming Board Eligible and completing residency). Michigan Medical License (or willingness to obtain). - DEA License. - BLS Certification with maintenance of recertification. Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days of application). Certification Requirements: - BLS - Board Certification - Board Eligibility - DEA - State License Requirements: Michigan Additional License Requirements: Candidates must be board certified in their respective clinical specialty or must achieve board certification within the timeframe stipulated by the applicable specialty board.
