Job Description
Picking & Receiving Technician Pay: $16.00–$17.00/hour Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Picking & Receiving Technician to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for accurately picking and staging materials, operating forklifts safely, receiving incoming inventory, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and accuracy. ResponsibilitiesPicking & Material Handling Safely operate forklifts to retrieve pallets and materials from warehouse racks and storage areas Pick, stage, move, and load materials according to work orders and shipping schedules Verify product labels, quantities, and order accuracy before movement or shipment Transport materials to designated staging, shipping, receiving, or production areas Assist with loading and unloading incoming shipments Receiving & Inventory Support Receive and inspect incoming inventory for accuracy and damage Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and material organization Use RF scanners or warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and updates Help maintain accurate inventory records and warehouse organization Warehouse Operations & Safety Conduct routine forklift and equipment inspections Report maintenance issues, damaged inventory, or safety concerns promptly Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures at all times Maintain clean, organized aisles, staging areas, and workspaces Work collaboratively with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet daily productivity goals Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience preferred Ability to safely operate sit-down, stand-up, or reach forklifts Forklift certification preferred, or willingness to become certified Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic math and inventory tracking skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment Preferred Skills Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures Prior experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations Position Summary The Picking & Receiving Technician plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory flow and supporting daily warehouse operations. Success in this role comes from working safely, staying organized, and maintaining strong attention to detail while helping the team meet operational goals efficiently and accurately.
