The City of Pasco is seeking a Planner I to support development projects and help guide the future growth of one of Washington’s fastest-growing cities. In this role, you will work with developers, property owners, consultants, and community members to navigate the development review process and ensure projects align with City codes, planning goals, and community standards.As a Planner I, you will review land use applications, evaluate development proposals, conduct research and analysis, and assist with reports and presentations related to planning and private development projects. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in municipal planning while collaborating with multiple City departments and contributing to projects that directly impact the community.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and able to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment are essential to success in this role.To read the full job description, click here: Planner I REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.): Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, public administration, or a related field Two (2) years of professional land use planning and/or private development experience or similar relatable experience including preparation of technical reports and economic data collection PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in municipal planning, community development, or private development review Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, or staff recommendations Knowledge of local government planning processes and environmental review procedures Cartography and/or graphic design experience preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferredCOMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE: The City offers a full benefits package for the employee and all eligible dependents covered at low premiums including: Medical coverage is available at tiered monthly rates based on plan selection and coverage level.
