Job Description
We are looking for a Plant Engineering / Maintenance Manager to join a global leader in specialty materials. This role offers the chance to step into a hands-on leadership position, overseeing a tight-knit team of 3 mechanics while owning maintenance strategy, capital improvements, and repair budgets for a complex manufacturing site. The hiring manager (Plant Manager) is seeking a change agent who is looking for more than a “keep things running” type of role. They’re looking for a true problem solver with a strong engineering foundation. The plant operates complex systems including large boilers, high-horsepower compressors and fans, and bulk material handling equipment. They need someone who can dig into challenges, troubleshoot effectively, and identify creative, cost-conscious solutions for repairs and upgrades. What makes this role especially compelling: Ownership of maintenance mechanic team and repair budgets, with a focus on cost control and smart decision-making Leadership of small to mid-sized capital projects (up to $500k) from concept through execution Direct involvement with contractors, planning, and plant-wide reliability improvements High visibility within the plant, working closely with the Plant Manager and operations team A strong culture around safety, continuous improvement, and accountability The company itself is a well-established global provider of ingredients and materials, supporting industries ranging from infrastructure and sustainability to consumer goods.
