Job Description
Overview The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing and site-related operations within a high-volume production facility. This role carries full accountability for safety, product quality, operational performance, and financial results. This leader will drive operational excellence by fostering a culture focused on continuous improvement, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. A key priority is strengthening plant performance through strategic initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and support long-term business growth. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for plant operations, overseeing multiple functional areas and large hourly and salaried teams Drive daily execution across core performance areas including safety, quality, cost control, and delivery Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, throughput, and profitability Serve as the primary business leader for the facility, with responsibility for achieving financial and operational targets Partner with cross-functional teams such as supply chain, customer operations, engineering, and commercial functions to meet customer expectations Lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives to improve overall financial performance Establish clear performance expectations and ensure alignment with organizational objectives Communicate business performance, priorities, and changes to employees through regular updates and meetings Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and professional development Support strategic planning efforts and participate in broader organizational initiatives and projects Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, procurement, human resources, and legal Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and capital plans Maintain a positive employee relations environment and support workforce engagement initiatives Represent the organization within the local business community and with external partners ⸻ Qualifications 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Demonstrated leadership experience managing large, multi-level teams Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results through others Experience improving or turning around underperforming operations Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and capital planning Ability to lead organizational change and drive continuous improvement initiatives Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization Track record of developing talent and building leadership capability within teams Strategic mindset with the ability to align operations with long-term business goals ⸻ Preferred Experience Experience with safety and environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting Knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies Background in process engineering or technical manufacturing environments Familiarity with enterprise systems and operational data analysis Strong mechanical or process understanding of production equipment and systems
