Position Summary This position is responsible for activities required in the spacing of plant material produced and buy-in plant material for scheduled target ready dates that meet plant quality and meet company goals.Essential Functions and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Supervise and coordinate the spacing of jammed plants and movement according to timing and need within the growing season. Supervise and coordinate the consolidation of plant material. Scrap plant material as needed. Complete inventory adjustment sheets for moves, spacing, and scrapped plant material and submit to inventory. Train, lead, coach and supervise team of employees, develop daily objectives for employees and monitor their performance to maximize efficiency. Previous experience managing/supervising employees required. Degree in Horticulture (vocation and/or bachelors' degree) preferred.Competencies Good understanding of crop cycles and grow times. Strong leadership traits including influencing skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills. Excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities. Strong mathematical skills and critical thinking skills. Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.Physical Demands Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders. Operate farm equipment when needed.
