Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Plant Nursery Worker to join our team and support the cultivation and maintenance of a diverse range of plants. This role involves outdoor work in a dynamic environment, requiring physical stamina and a passion for horticulture. The ideal candidate will have experience in gardening, landscaping, or farming, and possess mechanical knowledge related to nursery operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in plant care, irrigation systems, and greenhouse management while contributing to the growth of healthy plants for our customers. Duties Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning plants to promote healthy growth Operate irrigation systems and troubleshoot basic issues to ensure proper watering schedules Use hand tools for planting, trimming, and soil preparation Identify various plant species and diagnose common plant health issues Maintain greenhouse environments, including temperature regulation and humidity control Perform heavy lifting of plants, soil bags, and equipment as needed Support landscaping projects by preparing beds and installing plants Monitor plant growth and report any concerns or pest issues to supervisors Assist with general yard maintenance including mowing, edging, and debris removal Follow safety protocols during outdoor work and equipment operation Requirements Prior experience in horticulture, gardening, or related fields such as greenhouse work, lawn care, or farming is preferred Knowledge of irrigation systems and mechanical tools used in nursery operations Ability to identify different plant species and understand basic plant health needs Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions Basic math skills for measuring soil amendments or fertilizer application Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods Experience with land management, landscaping, or agriculture is a plus Mechanical knowledge related to nursery equipment is advantageous This role offers an engaging environment for individuals passionate about plants and outdoor work.
