Job Description
Job Summary The part-time Office Assistant role within LCCC’s Plant Operations is a non-benefited position that offers essential clerical, administrative, and campus-wide support. This role ensures efficient office operations by managing tasks including customer service, office support functions, data entry, work order management, maintaining organized documentation for purchase orders and requisitions, aid with building key distribution, in addition to motor-pool vehicle scheduling and travel requests. The position's working hours are typically 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. during winter months and 12:30 – 4:00 p.m. during summer months, Monday through Friday, subject to change based on office needs. Compensation: $15.03/hour. Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled. Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting visitors in a professional and courteous manner Aid with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings as needed. Capable of validating account accessibility prior to use Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment Operate office equipment such as printers, copiers, scanners, laminating devices, and a two-way radio Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing priorities Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, cataloging, and maintaining records Support maintenance operations by generating, distributing, and filing work orders Maintain regular updates and upkeep of spreadsheets and databases related to the Plant's operational activities Facilitate and perform various aspects of the vehicle scheduling process Proficiency in using specific computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.) Assist with purchasing-related tasks including organizing requisitions, purchase orders, and inventory management Support the building key distribution and retrieval process, ensuring keys are logged and filed appropriately Possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
