We are looking for dependable, plant-loving individuals to provide high-quality care for indoor plant owners and balcony gardens across the LA metro area.This is a flexible, gig-based independent contractor position, perfect for freelancers, students, or anyone who finds peace in a little soil and water. The Role The ideal candidate has a nurturing spirit and a keen eye for detail.While plant expertise is great, we find that those with backgrounds in caregiving, pet sitting, or childcare often excel here because they understand the patience and consistency required to keep living things healthy. Key Responsibilities Health Assessments:Visit homes to check soil moisture and overall plant wellness. Custom Hydration:Water plants according to specific species needs (no overwatering the cacti!). Climate Control:Adjust blinds, fans, or humidifiers to manage LA's unique microclimates and heat waves. Plant Grooming:Prune yellowing leaves and keep foliage dust-free. Pest Patrol:Spot and report signs of spider mites, mealybugs, or stress early. Client Connection:Send brief proof of life updates and photos to keep plant parents at ease. Space Stewardship:Respect the client's home and leave plant areas tidier than you found them. Requirements Plant Intuition:Personal experience keeping houseplants or a garden alive and well. Reliability:A no-show isn't just an inconvenience; it can be fatal for a tropical plant in July. Independence:Ability to follow detailed checklists and navigate LA traffic to reach appointments. Communication:Clear, friendly reporting skills. Logistics:Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable working in various residential neighborhoods. Caregiving DNA:A patient, observant, and responsible personality. Position Details Type:Independent Contractor (1099). Schedule:You set your own availability and pay and choose the gigs that fit your route. Compensation:Paid per visit; no traditional benefits provided. Onboarding:After a successful application, you will set up a professional profile on the House Plant Sitting platform to start connecting with local clients.Pay:$25.00 - $100.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
