Commencement Bay Corrugated is a full-service corrugated box plant, founded and incorporated in 1980.The Plant is 360,000 square feet and employs approximately 180 people.CBC manufactures custom boxes and sheets for customers located in the Western United States, Hawaii, and Alaska.Customer industries include fresh produce, processed foods, meat, fish, beverage, and industrial packaging. Due to the high volume of applicants, candidates who fail to follow the application instructions by calling or visiting will not be considered for employment.All questions or expressions of interest must be sent by message through Indeed.We have an opportunity to add a Plate Truck / Slip Sheet Operator to our team.Starting pay for a Plate Truck Operator position is $30.56/hour, with the first pay increase of $1/hr at 4 months.There is a shift differential of $1/hr when working on graveyard.Additional step increases at 9 & 18 months, as well as annual increases.Hiring Bonus and potential for annual Profit Sharing Bonus Safety Focused Company Must be willing to work any shift (day/swing/graveyard) and any day of the week. Must be able and willing to work overtime.Plate Truck Operator Responsibilities: Transfers product from the production line to the staging area or to the next production line for further processing. Understands and follows all safety rules and regulations, and company policies, while operating Plate Truck in a safe manner at all times. Maintains Plate Truck by completing driver checklist at the beginning of every shift; reporting maintenance needs to the maintenance department when necessary. Reports any damaged product or equipment to Supervisor.Qualifications: At least one year prior forklift experience required in a manufacturing environment.Preference given to those who have experience driving a plate truck or slipsheet.High School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to read a tape measure and process basic math.(Test given at interview) Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a safe manner.Able to operate a plate truck (sitting) for 8-12 hours, while also being able to mount/dismount forklift safely and walk/stand when needed.Able to withstand dusty and noisy conditions.Must be able to pass a drug test, including marijuana, as this is a safety sensitive position.
