Job Description
Plumbing Superintendent I Position Summary: Responsible for work which includes coordination, installation and repair of piping and equipment for mechanical systems. Individuals should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including our sub-contractors, and work as a team with other departments and divisions. Represents TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner. Should also be able to accept direction and/or lead and delegate work. Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for all on sight activity regarding manpower, materials and scheduling. Is the point of contact for the customer/general contractor/owner. Ensures safety is the number one priority on the job-site. Conducts pre-safety meeting before job begins as well as weekly safety reports and toolbox talks. Will have completed the OSHA 30 hour training at a minimum. Conducts appropriate preplanning when assigned a new job such as reviewing all plans and specs, identifying pre-fab opportunities, understanding scope of work. Other items to preplan would be material take off, size of crew and tools and equipment needed. Directs all coordination issues. Reviews drawings with CAD designer before printing and then signs off on those drawings. Reviews and signs off on all drawings going to the FAB shop. Attends all coordination meetings that involve our scope of work. Minimizes downtime by scheduling all work to be performed by employees, other trades and subs. Lays out all work for crew at least one week in advance. Ensures all tools, equipment and material are on-site when needed and returned when not needed. Has a contingency plan to ensure crew is always productive. Ensures productivity standards are being met or exceeded by checking the estimate versus actual installation. Utilizes the Four Week Look Ahead and sets goals for the team to improve productivity and
