Hunt Forest Products in Pollock, LA is seeking to fill press operator positions on our glue lin.This full-time, position is a vital role in determining both the quality and quantity of plywood available to our customers.Hunt Forest Products offers many benefits along with a varied shift schedule to accommodate a work/life balance.Opportunities for increased pay are available for those who demonstrate their abilities to successfully operate the press after training.Candidates must enjoy working in a high-heat environment and can demonstrate good judgement when working with equipment and other employees.Duties and Responsibilities:Safely operates equipment and maintains work area throughout duration of shift.Responsible for the flow of loads from the accumulator to the press unloader.Maintains posted pre- and hot press pressures, temperatures and timing Checks glue spreads and glue bonds Keeps pace with manufacturing operations and communicates issues to supervisor ahead of time.Works with others to ensure cleanliness of work area.Follow all company safety rules and PPE use.Follow all company rules and procedures regarding daily work activity.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age.Previous work experience with presses or other plywood manufacturing equipment is highly preferred.Must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts that include rotating days/nights, weekends and holidays.Must successfully pass pre-employment testing and background checks if given a conditional job offer.Physical and Safety Requirements:(This is a safety sensitive position) Ability to work in an industrial environment that includes heat, cold and noise.Safely operate assigned tools and equipment.Safely maneuver around moving machinery, uneven ground, steps, ladders and stairs.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.unassisted.Adherence to consistent hydration schedule.Ability to lift, push, pull and have exposure to various weights and sizes of veneer, plywood, lumber, bark and sawdust.Ability to lift over shoulder/head height.Ability to stoop, walk, stand, push, pull, bend, kneel, climb as to demonstrate a range of motion needed to complete assigned work during 12-hour shifts.Must be able to hear, read and see directions; instructions and/or signals.Clearly communicate safety issues and concerns as they appear.Job Type:Full-time Salary:From $23.78 per hour Schedule:12 hour shift Shift availability:Day Shift (Required) Night Shift (Required) Overnight Shift (Required) Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching program Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Referral bonus program Company paid long-term, short-term and life insurance Sign-on bonus available for new hires (rehires ineligible).Weekend shift differential pay for weekend rotations shifts.Tuition reimbursement.
