Police Officer 1 The mission of Southern University and A&M College, an Historically Black, 1890 land-grant institution, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is to provide a student-focused teaching and learning environment that creates global leadership opportunities for a diverse student population where teaching, research, service, scholarly and creative expectations for students and faculty are achieved through the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs offered at the institution via different instructional modalities and via public service. Southern University and A&M College is looking for a Police Officer 1 to protect the lives and property through active foot and mobile security patrols. This position must provide first aid and emergency services, enforce parking and traffic regulations, provide crowd control at special events and prevents interference with normal operations and directs traffic. Minimum Qualifications No experience or training is required. Necessary special requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license. Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
