Job Description
Job OverviewThe Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing the law within the community.This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to upholding justice, protecting citizens, and serving the community with integrity.Officers will engage in various law enforcement activities, including patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergencies, and conducting investigations.Responsibilities Patrol designated areas to deter and detect criminal activity.Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents.Conduct thorough investigations of crimes and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations.Enforce laws and ordinances while ensuring the rights of individuals are respected.Manage conflicts effectively to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.Participate in community outreach programs to foster positive relationships with residents.Provide assistance in loss prevention efforts for local businesses.Maintain proficiency in CPR and first aid to provide emergency medical assistance when necessary.Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related field is preferred.Completion of police academy training or equivalent law enforcement training program.Strong understanding of law enforcement principles, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of immigration law is beneficial for community engagement.Experience in criminal investigation techniques is a plus.Excellent report writing skills to document incidents accurately and clearly.Demonstrated leadership abilities within a team environment.Ability to handle animals safely when necessary as part of community policing efforts.Must pass background checks and meet all physical fitness requirements.Candidates should possess a strong commitment to public service, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.The role of Police Officer requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$33.28 - $37.18 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Dependent health insurance coverage Health insurance Life insurance Military leave Paid time off Retirement plan Uniform allowance Vision insurance Schedule:8 hour shift Application Question(s):OPOTA Certification is Required to apply OPOTC Certification is Required to apply, Ohio Peace Officer Certification Work Location:In person.
