Make a Difference - Protect and serve your community every day. Duties Enforce laws and ordinances; patrol assigned areas. Respond to calls for service; conduct investigations; gather evidence. Make arrests, testify in court, provide traffic control. Perform community engagement and represent the department at events. Administer first aid; de-escalate conflicts. Train new employees. Authority & Supervision Police Officers have full arrest powers under California Penal Code. Recruits and Officers receive general supervision from higher-ranking sworn personnel. Minimum Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (AA/BA/advanced degree accepted). 60 semester / 90 quarter college units from an accredited institution. Substitution: Four (4) years of honorable military service may substitute. _Graduation from Sacramento Police Academy earns 26 semester units toward the requirement._ Must be 21 years of age by appointment. Valid California Class C driver's license. No felony convictions. Online Exam (Pass/Fail): Score 70%required.Test exemption possible with valid P.O.S.T.PELLETB (T-score >=45) or prior passing City exam within 2 years. Eligibility List: Valid for 2 years. Oral Interview (100%): Conducted by Sacramento PD. Physical Agility Test (Pass/Fail): Administered by Sacramento PD.
