The Town of Sullivan's Island operates as a full-service municipal government, providing Police, Fire, Building Inspections, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Public Works, and utility services. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer position located in Sullivans Island, SC. The Police Officer will perform a wide range of law enforcement duties, including maintaining community safety, responding to emergencies, conducting criminal investigations, and enforcing laws and ordinances. Additional responsibilities include collecting and processing evidence, patrolling assigned areas, and fostering positive relationships with residents and visitors to promote the community's values and safety. Qualifications Proficiency in general law enforcement practices and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines Experience in handling evidence and conducting criminal investigations Strong skills in community policing, fostering trust, and building relationships with residents and visitors Ability to patrol assigned areas, enforce laws and ordinances, and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies Physical fitness and the capacity to complete all required assessments and training Effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities High school diploma or equivalent; certifications from recognized law enforcement ac
