Police Telecommunicator

JOB Receives incoming calls for police and non-emergency assistance, entering relevant information into the CAD system. Provides general support for dispatch operations, including record-keeping, typing, and filing. Monitors teletype communications. Must successfully complete the licensing academy, pass the TCOLE exam, and complete all required training and associated tests for licensing. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Community Services Sergeant and general supervision of the Community Services Lieutenant.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Typing test through the Workforce Solutions Office or online (only if Workforce Solutions is not available). Applicants who have taken a typing test within one (1) year of application date may attach the results to their online application.Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to attain this knowledge and abilities would be through some experience in public relations.A high school graduate or equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.Be completely free of alcohol or drug habits.
