The Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment for residents and guests. The Pool Attendant monitors pool activity, enforces pool rules and regulations, assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the pool area, and responds appropriately to emergencies by administering first aid or CPR when needed. This is a seasonal position at Long Pond Village Apartments in Rotterdam, NY running from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with the pool open 7 days a week from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Shifts are from 10am - 3pm and 3pm - 8pm. Starting pay is $17-$18/hour. Essential Functions Monitors the pool area to ensure residents and guests follow all pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment. Administers first aid and CPR when needed and contacts emergency medical personnel in the event of a serious injury or emergency. Maintains cleanliness of the pool area, including wiping down furniture, removing trash, organizing pool equipment, and ensuring pool decks remain clean and hazard-free. Performs routine pool maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool, skimming debris, and cleaning drains and surrounding areas. Conducts routine pool water testing and assists with maintaining proper chemical levels in accordance with property procedures. Provides excellent customer service to residents and guests by answering questions and addressing concerns professionally. Reports unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or maintenance concerns to management promptly. Completes all other projects or requests as directed by Supervisor. Requirements SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures. Excellent observational and communication skills. Ability to enforce pool regulations and safety rules in a professional manner. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Ability to complete routine cleaning and maintenance duties. Education And Experience Must be at least 16 years old. Must possess CPR/First Aid certification issued within the prior year from the Red Cross or equivalent agency. Previous customer service or pool experience preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Prolonged periods of working outdoors.
