The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all Rinks/Great Park hockey programming (locations as assigned) in a manner supportive of The Rinks objectives as outlined in the Mission Statement and Company Values. This includes promoting and administering hockey leagues, grassroots programs, coaching development programs, clinics, All World summer camps, day camps, clinics, grassroots initiatives and all hockey development in an on-ice and off-ice role in a manner that positively reflects our USA Hockey Model Club Association. Responsibilities Program Administration Oversee, organize, and promote all youth and adult hockey programs. (The Hockey Manager may be required to work at other rink locations to meet business needs). Manage program registration process and administration of hockey schedules. Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule. Be present and create a dynamic environment for all youth and adult grassroots programs. Assume primary responsibility for program scheduling, curriculum and instructional coverage. Oversee, organize, and promote all youth and adult hockey programs. (The Hockey Manager may be required to work at other rink locations to meet business needs). Manage program registration process and administration of hockey schedules. Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule. Be present and create a dynamic environment for all youth and adult grassroots programs. Assume primary responsibility for program scheduling, curriculum, and instructional coverage. Assist as needed with all Rinks events, USA Hockey events, training, tournaments including ADM jamboree events. Includes ADM board set up, organizing rink and jersey assignment for all teams, coordinating post event parties, ensuring refs are aware of ADM rules/guidelines, overseeing event in its entirety. Oversee and manage assigned hockey coordinators (If applicable in your facility) and maintain an open line or communication, develop clear expectations and responsibilities. Customer service: respond in a timely manner for all inquiries regarding youth and adult hockey. Grassroots Programs: assist with check in, gear fitting, organize practice plans and lead staff on ice as needed. Before and after each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players. Organize and implement on ice practice plan and communicate with support staff. Develop and deliver training programs and review coach ongoing development twice a year. Ensure students are engaged, having fun, learning during all hockey events. Be accessible to answer questions during all hockey events. Adult Hockey Leagues and Programs: Oversee registration, scheduling, draft skates, and overall league set up. On-Ice: Learn to Play Hockey: assist with check in, gear fitting, organize practice plan, lead coach, instruct on ice session with support coaches. After each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players. Hockey Initiation programs: Responsible for preparing and implementing practice plans for each session, communicating plans to support coaches, engaging with parents after each session to answer any questions. Little Ducks: assist with check in, gear fitting, organize practice plan, lead coach, instruct on ice session with support coaches. After each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players. Rec League draft Skates Practices and Clinics: Oversee registration, run on-ice tryout, draft players, organize practice plans be present for all hockey events and games – 1 hour prior and approximately 1 hour after.
