Job Description
Overview Dr. Yusen Liu’s NIH-funded research program focuses on the role of glutathione reductase in host defense against microbial infection. His work has established glutathione reductase as an important factor for pathogen killing in phagocytes, particularly neutrophils. The goal of this research is to define the biological and biochemical mechanisms by which glutathione reductase regulates oxidative burst and phagocytosis. Studies will employ mouse models along with metabolomics, proteomics, immunological, and molecular biology approaches to address key mechanistic questions.
