Apply via Dice today! **Job Title: Power BI Specialist (Database Support Experience Required) Location : Alpharetta GA - Hybrid** Experience : 9+ years 2nd Interview will be in-person in Alpharetta Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Power BI Specialist with strong expertise in supporting and working with enterprise databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, while ensuring reliable data integration, performance, and accuracy through close collaboration with database systems and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms Provide ongoing database support, including data validation, performance optimization, and issue resolution Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support reporting needs Collaborate with data owners, business analysts, and IT teams to define KPI definitions and data models Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reports and datasets Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI refresh failures and database connectivity issues Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage access controls in Power BI Document data models, report logic, and support procedures Provide user support and training on Power BI reports and self-service analytics Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Specialist Strong experience supporting relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and performance tuning Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, fact and dimension tables) Experience troubleshooting data quality and performance issues Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Factory Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipelines Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical reporting environments Power BI or Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300) Key Skills Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling) SQL and database performance optimization Data analysis and visualization best practices Problem-solving and analytical thinking Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
