Job Description
PREA Coordinator Position Are you experienced with working in a jail setting and do you have supervisory experience? Do you have great organizational skills and are you detail-oriented? If you answered yes to these questions, then you need to apply for the PREA Coordinator position with the Travis County Sheriff's Office. The PREA Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a reporting program in accordance with Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), serves as the point of contact for all PREA issues; ensures compliance with applicable federal mandates; responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all applicable standards and Department policies and procedures relating to PREA standards; monitoring Office PREA standards and compliance strategy; and performs related duties as assigned. Takes proactive steps to ensure the sexual safety of all inmates in TCSO custody. This position is eligible for overtime. Duties and Responsibilities Directly supervises one staff member and indirectly supervises the TCCC and TCJ PREA Compliance Manager. Advises, guides, trains, and directs as needed concerning PREA implementation. Maintains the Employee Development Folder (EDF) and performs annual appraisal for staff who are PREA Compliance Managers assigned to TCCC and TCJ. Examines, reviews, and audits department records and data to ensure compliance with PREA mandates. Reviews reports and investigations to ensure completeness, accuracy and adherence to PREA standards.
