The primary responsibility of the Vice Chair for Predoctoral Dental Education is to oversee faculty affairs in the department, including faculty schedule and assignments, clinical grading oversight, and faculty recruitment. The Vice Chair will also assist the chair in oversight of faculty as it relates to student trainees and predoctoral dental students. The Vice Chair reports to the Chair of the Department of Predoctoral Dental Education and works closely with division chiefs, educational program team leaders, and subspecialty program directors. Areas of Responsibility Assist the Chair to cultivate a departmental culture that prioritizes and advances the educational mission, serving as the primary advocate among faculty for continuous investment and program enhancement. Provide leadership and strategic oversight for faculty affairs, including guidance, support, pre-clinical and clinical assignments, professional development, and calibration of division chiefs, faculty, and subspecialty program leaders. Serve as a key advisor to the Chair on matters related to faculty strategy, including priority setting, fundings needs, resource allocation, search and recruitment, and infrastructure development.
