Overview Seeking a hardworking and knowledgeable prep cook to join our growing team. This is a starting Cook role at a wine bar in idyllic South Lake Tahoe. I am looking for someone who is local and reliable, hardworking, and can manage all back of house duties including prepping, cleaning dishes, and preparing easy dishes. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus. Assist in menu planning, ensuring a variety of nutritious and appealing options. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Handle food items safely and efficiently, adhering to all food handling regulations. Collaborate with the dietary department to meet specific dietary needs of clients. Ensure proper storage and handling of food items to minimize waste and maintain quality. Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation, ensuring precision and safety. Provide support in fine dining settings, enhancing the overall guest experience through attentive service. Experience Previous experience as a cook or chef at a fast-paced restaurant Background in culinary arts or related fields with hands-on kitchen experience is essential. Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques is required. Experience in the food industry, including restaurant or catering environments, is advantageous. Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations is necessary. Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure are highly valued.
