Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Experience in dietary departments, food handling, or restaurant settings is highly valued. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in assisting with menu planning, meal preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. Duties Prepare ingredients and components for daily menu items, following standardized recipes and portion sizes Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling dishes Support the cooking process by executing basic cooking techniques under supervision Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation standards Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs Support catering events and special meal requests as needed Follow proper knife skills for efficient and safe food prep Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure appealing dishes for service Experience Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or catering environments is preferred Familiarity with menu planning, food safety protocols, and kitchen equipment operation is desirable Culinary experience including knife skills, food preparation, and cooking techniques is highly beneficial Experience in the food industry or food handling roles will support success in this position Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts to grow their skills within a professional kitchen setting.
