Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to support our early childhood education program. This role is for a Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and spiritually enriching learning environment that reflects the values and mission of our Christian school. Key Responsibilities: Planning and implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.(Bible, Circle Time, Center, Art, etc.) Prepare the learning environment, including setting up interest centers and organizing materials. Supervise the classroom and maintain structure and care. Delegate different tasks to assistant teacher. Assist with general housekeeping and upkeep of the classroom to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming space. Treat each child with dignity, respect, and Christ-like compassion. Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development opportunities. Participate in professional organizations that promote excellence in early childhood education. Help guide activities that support children’s emotional, social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual development. Encourage personal hygiene routines and assist with toileting as needed. Monitor and report any concerns regarding a child’s behavior or well-being to the Preschool Coordinator. Observe and document developmental milestones as assigned. Support parent engagement by attending school functions and events. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Fulfill other duties as requested by school administration. Qualifications and Skills: Must have DCF 45 hours. Ability to effectively manage a classroom. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow directions accurately and work within a team. Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Flexible, dependable, and committed to the values of Christian education. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs. Capability to bend, stretch, stoop, and engage physically with children at their level. Ability to climb stairs and move quickly to ensure child safety. Visual and auditory ability to supervise children in alignment with licensing requirements. Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Light cleaning and administrative tasks as needed.
