JOB TITLE: PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR I - 2nd Shift PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Form parts according to specifications while meeting or exceeding established B & J Quality standards safely and efficiently. CORE VALUES: The following list of Core Values and Behaviors are necessary to meet the minimum requirements: TEAMWORK Help each other succeed Communicate clearly and directly, listen well Encourage team mates Blameless problem solving HONESTY AND INTEGRITY Honor your commitments Do the right thing Consistent in your attitudes and actions LEAN Improve processes Open to new ideas Share information, and teach Expose issues NUMBERS FOCUSED Deliver results Analyze data for improvement Take ownership and accountability Work smarter, not harder EXCELLENCE Exhibit passion in serving customers Contribute solutions Sense of urgency Be the best at what you do Seek knowledge FUN Be positive Celebrate achievements Don’t take yourself too seriously CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES: Essential Operate press brake safely according to specifications Have first article bought off by lead, supervisor or inspector Place metal stock in designated press brake machine, operate machine and bend material according to specifications Check parts regularly for accuracy Properly fill out and use dimensional verification sheets to monitor quality Maintain proper documentation on all assignments in coordination with Quality Assurance Check parts regularly for accuracy and quality Ensure and record accurate counts Ensure work is documented accurately including clock-in & clock-out Maintain efficient production times Have parts properly prepared to hand off to the next process Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with lead, supervisor, and co-workers Notify lead or supervisor of any material or mechanical issues Willing to work overtime when needed Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation Participate actively and positively in Lean activities Non-Essential Keep tooling and work area neat and organized Perform daily maintenance Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner All other duties as assigned REPORTS TO: Sheet Metal Supervisor WORKS WITH: B&J Team Members SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by B&J Industries REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Essential Minimum one years’ experience in a precision sheet metal environment Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Good ability to read drawings Ability to understand detailed verbal instructions Manual dexterity Must have own tools Beneficial High school graduate plus relevant vocational training (e.g. sheet metal work) Additional math skills relating to algebra, geometry and/or trigonometry Familiarity with Amada & Trumpf press brakes PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Sit 25%, Stand 25%, Walk 15%, Bend 8%, Squat 8%, Lift 10%, Twist 4%, Kneel 1%, Reach Above Shoulder 1%, Climb 1%, Drive 1%, Push/Pull 1%. Maximum (minutes): Sit 90, Stand 90, Walk 15, Bend 30, Squat 30, Lift 30, Twist 20, Kneel 5, Reach Above Shoulder 15, Climb 5, Drive 5, Push/Pull 15. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids). Working Environment: Shop environment. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat and cold. This position will require drug testing per company policy. Monday through Thursday - 3:00pm - 1:30am
