Parent Advocate Program:SUFFOLK COUNTY PREVENTIVE SERVICES Basic Function of Position:To provide support and assistance to Preventive Services families who are participating the program.Schedule:21-hour work week/3 days/schedule, typically 9-5 or 10-6, varies based on program need.Responsibilities:? Work as an advocate for the preventive services clients and families? Help teach parenting skills? Help clients identify neighborhood resources? Collaborate with caseworkers? Regularly report on all activities preformed for and/or with clients? Provide support to the families in the program? Assist families in connecting with community programs? Assist in emergency situation? Plan recreational activities with the clients? Work Cell phone will be provided and must be on at all times for emergency/crisis situations? Document work as required? Administrative work as needed (filing, making copies, etc.Qualifications:? High School Diploma? Experience with social services? Bilingual Spanish a plus?
