This is a full-time onsite role that typically works M – F, 40 hours per week, with a flex as needed . U.S. citizenship is required for this position. Relocation assistance is available. Join a manufacturing engineering team that supports multiple product lines and plays a key role in process improvement, production support, and technology development. In this role, you will help drive manufacturing performance, cost reduction, quality improvement, and deeper process understanding across areas including forming, fluoride crystals, and Trident, a newer glass-making technology. This position is ideal for an engineer who can step into a manufacturing environment, manage priorities, lead projects, and support improvement initiatives and capital equipment installations. Key Responsibilities Lead projects aimed at achieving manufacturing performance targets for both new and existing processes Define process limitations based on current equipment and process capabilities and recommend how to eliminate those limitations Lead efforts to develop fundamental understanding of key processes to drive continuous improvement, yield improvement, and cost reduction Provide guidance to management on project priority selection Lead and support critical engineering and development projects that support plant goals and long-term objectives Leverage technical and engineering resources across the division and company to improve project outcomes Interface with and support development on new product and process introductions, raw material changes, and equipment design changes Minimum Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering , or a related field 7+ years of professional non-academic experience in a technical, engineering, or development role Experience leading or supporting process improvement and process development efforts Manufacturing background, ideally in environments involving chemical reactions or material transformation processes Strong technical problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions Demonstrated technical project leadership experience and strong communication skills In order to comply with Corning’s government contract requirements at this location, if you receive an offer of employment for this position, you will need to provide documentation of your U.S. citizen status.
