Job Description
Job Purpose The Produce Attendant at PAY-LESS is responsible for ensuring the produce section is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing to customers. The role involves maintaining the quality and freshness of fruits and vegetables, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the overall operations of the produce department. Key Responsibilities Stock and rotate produce items to ensure freshness and availability for customers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce section, including displays and storage areas. Assist customers with product selection, providing information on produce items and offering recommendations. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding stock needs and discrepancies. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in handling and storing produce. Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and enhance customer satisfaction. Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay informed about new products and department procedures. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment, preferably in the produce department Experience in customer service and handling customer inquiries Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of different types of produce, including seasonal fruits and vegetables Ability to assess the quality and freshness of produce items Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic math skills for inventory management and pricing Physical ability to lift, carry, and stock produce items, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
