Job Overview The Produce Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the produce department within a retail environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that the produce section is well-stocked, visually appealing, and meets quality standards. The Produce Lead will maintain high quality standards, manage inventory, and drive sales while providing exceptional customer service. Starting rate is $19.00 per hour, but experience can increase that. Duties Manage the overall operations of the produce department, including staffing, training, and scheduling. Oversee Ordering and inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste. Implement effective sales management strategies to maximize profitability and meet sales goals. Price products competitively while ensuring compliance with company pricing policies. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the produce area. Collaborate with other departments to promote seasonal items and special promotions. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and product selections. Skills Strong ability to sell products effectively and engage customers. Experience as a clerk or in a similar retail role is preferred. Proficient in inventory control practices to manage stock efficiently. Knowledge of sales management techniques to drive department performance. Ability to set competitive prices while maintaining profit margins. Experience in store management with a focus on operational excellence. Effective shift management capabilities to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
