Debra's is hiring! Our independent natural foods store is looking for a Produce Associate for our 99% organic and local produce department.The Job You'll spend a lot of your day in our produce room, prepping fruits and vegetables; and then out on the floor maintaining the displays.However, our produce room is open to the store, and it's a small enough store we all get to do a little bit of everything.So you'll help customers find things, jump on a cash register, and receive deliveries.You'll also start getting to know our farmers and distributors, and our computer system for pricing and inventory, so you can eventually start to work with them as well.Requirements & Preferences We tend to keep people on a set schedule.There's some flexibility, but a few early mornings (7:00 or 7:30), and at least one weekend day are a must.This is at times a physical job.The ability to stand, lift, bend, etc., are crucial.It should go without saying we are looking for neat and organized, good at communicating, and nice to be around, too.We're looking for people who can stick around at least a year.Experience is preferred but not necessary.A good visual sense for display helps.Bonus points if you have a passion for natural, organic, fair trade, and sustainable.And if you bring any special skills, let's talk.Why Debra's?
