In this hybrid "Showrunner" role, you will be the creative glue of the project—transitioning stories from the page to the screen and guiding them through the final cut. You will work directly with the C-suite and the directorial team to ensure the narrative integrity of our work remains intact from the first script page to the final sound mix. Key Responsibilities Creative Leadership & Development Vision Casting: Partner with the Chief Production Officer (CPO) to establish the overarching creative vision, aesthetic, and technical setup for the project. Narrative Work: Collaborate with the Chief Content Officer (CCO), Chief Experience Officer, and CPO to translate books into compelling episodic screenplays. Production Mapping: Identify key characters, locations, and essential production elements during the development phase to ensure feasibility and creative alignment. Production & Direction Visual Strategy: Work hand-in-hand with the Episodic Director to define the visual language, sequences, and specific shot compositions. Post-Production & Editorial Lead Editorial: Drive the editorial process for each episode in coordination with the Director and CPO, managing the rhythm, pacing, and emotional beats of the story. Sound Design: Support the sound design team to ensure the auditory atmosphere reflects the specific tone and "world-building" of each book. Strategy & Optimization Process Documentation: Meticulously document project learnings and creative milestones. Workflow Evolution: Support the larger team in refining production pipelines and improving cross-departmental workflows for future adaptations. Qualifications & Skills The "Showrunner" Mindset: Proven experience in managing a project from development through post-production. Adaptation Expertise: A strong background in screenwriting or story editing, specifically in turning long-form literature into episodic content. AI Production Fluency: Comprehensive understanding of current AI technologies (e.g., generative models for image and video), their limitations, and proven experience in integrating AI tools into production workflows while developing creative workarounds for technical hurdles. Technical Proficiency: Mastery of high-end NLE software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid) and a deep understanding of post-production workflows. Collaborative Spirit: Ability to navigate the needs of executive leadership (CPO/CCO) while supporting the creative needs of directors. Ear for Detail: A solid understanding of sound design’s role in storytelling. Why This Role? You’ll have the unique opportunity to influence a project at every single stage of the creative lifecycle, from the initial "what if" to the final export. If you love books, and adaptations are always a let down, join us!
